Place:
Genome Center, University of California Davis, USA
USDA Nat'l Clonal Germplasm Repository - Tree Fruit & Nut Crops, Davis
Dates: May 27th-31th, 2019
We visited Genome Center at UC Davis to discuss on our collaborative projects on sex chromosome and determination systems in persimmons, with Prof. Luca Comai and Dr. Isabelle M. Henry. We also visited to USDA germplasm repository Davis, to take pictures of kiwifruit (Actinidia spp.), and to update information of their tree fruit and nut crop collections. This visiting was supported by International Activity Support Group of Scientific Research on Innovative Areas "The Birth of New Plant Species".
The discussions with good collaborators helped us from various aspects, like to provide new genomic/transcriptomic technologies, which encouraged us powerfully. Huge germplasm collections of USDA, far beyond my expectation, reminded me the importance of plants resources, in which unfamiliar but interesting phenomena remain to be solved. This visit would certainly promote our research, and we will take care of the connections with them.
